A VS symbol lands and, if it would be part of a win once expanded, it takes the whole reel and becomes a DuelReel. Two duelists then fight over it, each carrying one multiplier, and the winner's multiplier is applied across that entire DuelReel. That's the base-game engine: reels that expand, duel, and hand a multiplier to everything passing through them.
The scatters duel too, which is the part most slots don't do. Land three or more FS symbols and they expand into FS DuelReels. Each FS DuelReel holds two free-spin values that fight, and the winning value from each one is added to the others to set how many spins your bonus runs for. You don't get a fixed ten spins — you get whatever the scatters win between them.
Bonus Upgrades then decide which round you land in. Three FS DuelReels plus one Upgrade turns Hades Havoc into Zeus Fury. Three plus two Upgrades, or four plus one, takes you all the way to Eternal Destruction. So the scatter count is only half the story — the upgrades sitting alongside them are what move you up the ladder.
