Slot Glossary
36 terms covering Eternal Duel's DuelReels with Hades vs Zeus multipliers, three bonus modes, multiplicative wild stacking, and the path to 10,000x.
Autoplay
Spin the reels automatically for a set number of rounds. Pick how many spins and optional stop conditions (stop on DuelReel landing, stop on Free Spins trigger, stop on balance threshold). Useful for grinding the 1-in-160 scatter trigger that opens the three bonus modes.
Base Game
Regular gameplay before the three bonus modes activate. Eternal Duel's base game runs across 20 Lines on the 5×4 grid. High (5/5) volatility (5/5) means most session profit comes from DuelReel landings — about 76% of all base spins return nothing.
Bonus Buy (Feature Buy)
Skip the base game and jump straight into a bonus mode. Eternal Duel offers Hades Havoc Buy (80x, RTP 96.28%), Zeus Fury Buy (150x, RTP 96.30%), and Eternal Destruction Buy (250x, RTP 96.32%). All three buy variants are available where regulation allows. UK and Sweden block Bonus Buy. Ontario caps max bet at $5 CAD.
Cascading Reels (Tumble)
After a winning combination resolves, winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into place. Eternal Duel doesn't use cascades — wins resolve once per spin via 20 paylines and DuelReel mechanics. The replay action comes from VS symbols expanding into DuelReels, not from in-spin cascade chains.
Cluster Pays
Eternal Duel doesn't use cluster pays. Wins resolve through 20 Lines on the 5×4 grid. Cluster pays would require connected groups of matching symbols anywhere; Eternal Duel keeps the line-win format with DuelReels providing the value-escalation through multiplicative wild stacking.
Dead Spin
A spin that returns absolutely nothing. Eternal Duel's high (5/5) (5/5) volatility produces dead spins around 76% of the time at base game (hit frequency ~24%). The 10,000x cap is the trade-off for those drought stretches. Bonus rounds trigger ~1 in 160 spins — relatively frequent for high-vol Hacksaw releases.
DuelReels
Eternal Duel's headline mechanic. When the VS symbol lands and participates in a winning combination, it expands into a full DuelReel. Hades appears on the left half carrying a random multiplier (2x-15x), Zeus on the right with his own (2x-15x). During base game you collect whichever side matches your payline. During free spins, both values get added together for combined multipliers.
Eternal Destruction
Eternal Duel's premium bonus mode. Triggered by 5 scatters during base play (~1 in 25,000 spins natural rate) OR Bonus Buy at 250x bet. 10+ free spins with guaranteed special symbols every spin. Both Hades and Zeus values combine on DuelReels. Wilds carry multipliers. Relics add extra spins. RTP 96.32%, average return ~250x. Highest-tier bonus.
Feature Trigger Rate
How often any bonus mode activates. Eternal Duel's scatter trigger sits at ~1 in 160 base spins. Distribution: 3 scatters → Hades Havoc (~70% of triggers). 4 scatters → Zeus Fury (~25%). 5 scatters → Eternal Destruction (~5%, roughly 1 in 25,000 base spins natural rate). All three tiers can be bought at varying costs.
Free Spins
Bonus rounds where you don't pay the stake. Eternal Duel has three Free Spins variants: Hades Havoc (6+ spins), Zeus Fury (8+ spins), Eternal Destruction (10+ spins). Trigger tier determines spin count and mechanics. Retriggers add additional spins where applicable.
Hades Havoc
Eternal Duel's entry bonus mode. Triggered by 3 scatters during base play OR Bonus Buy at 80x bet. 6+ free spins where every reel carries a growing multiplier that darkens each round. Compound interest for multipliers. RTP 96.28%. Average return ~60x. Medium risk profile.
Hit Frequency
How often Eternal Duel lands any winning combination. The hit rate sits at ~24% — about 1 in 4 spins pays something. Standard for high-volatility Hacksaw designs. The math model rewards DuelReel multiplier landings over frequent base-game hits. Extreme volatility (5/5) demands extended bankroll runway.
Max Win
The absolute maximum a slot can pay on a single round. Eternal Duel caps at 10,000x. The path runs almost exclusively through Eternal Destruction with combined Hades+Zeus multipliers stacking multiplicatively across multiple DuelReels. Estimated probability ~1 in 3,500,000 spins.
Max Win Cap
Once Eternal Duel hits 10,000x, the round ends immediately. The 10,000x cap is conservative for the High (5/5) variance category — Hacksaw could have set higher. Sister DuelReels titles vary: Wanted Dead or a Wild caps at 12,500x, Le Bandit at 20,000x, Stick Em at 50,000x.
Megaways
A Big Time Gaming licensed mechanic with up to 117,649 ways to win. Eternal Duel doesn't use Megaways — uses 20 Lines on a 5×4 grid. Hacksaw Gaming has Megaways-licensed titles in their catalog but the DuelReels series stays with the line-format math.
Multiplier
A value that multiplies your win. Eternal Duel's DuelReels carry separate Hades (2x-15x) and Zeus (2x-15x) multipliers. Base game uses one side per payline. Free spins combine both sides additively (Hades 10x + Zeus 8x = 18x). Multiple DuelReels on the same payline multiply together (multiplicative, not additive).
Multiplier Duelists
Eternal Duel's thematic naming for the DuelReel characters. Hades represents the underworld faction. Zeus represents the sky faction. Their multiplier values are independent random draws each spin. The Duelist combat is visual flavor; mechanically it's pure RNG multiplier assignment.
Paylines
Predefined lines across the reels where matching symbols form a win. Eternal Duel runs on 20 Lines on a 5×4 grid. Lines pay left-to-right starting from reel 1. All 20 lines are always active — you can't reduce the count. The 20-line density is moderate, supporting DuelReel mechanics with reasonable line coverage.
Paytable
The reference chart showing each symbol's payout for matching combinations. Access through the game's info menu. Eternal Duel's premium symbols (Trident, Lightning Bolt, themed mythology icons) pay the most. Mid-tier symbols include Greek mythology imagery. Card royals (A/K/Q/J/10) fill out the bottom across the 20-line layout.
RNG (Random Number Generator)
The cryptographic algorithm determining every spin outcome. Hacksaw Gaming uses BMM Testlabs-certified RNGs — independently audited for fairness in regulated EU markets. Each spin in Eternal Duel is independent of the last; previous DuelReel landings or Hades/Zeus multiplier values have zero influence on future spin outcomes.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical percentage of wagered money a slot returns over millions of spins. Eternal Duel runs at 96.30% (base) — slightly above industry standard. Bonus Buy variants: Hades Havoc 96.28%, Zeus Fury 96.30%, Eternal Destruction 96.32%. The Eternal Destruction Buy at 96.32% is the highest-RTP buy variant. Some operators may run lower variants.
Scatter
A special symbol that triggers features regardless of payline position. Eternal Duel's scatter is the FS (Free Spins) symbol. 3 scatters = Hades Havoc. 4 scatters = Zeus Fury. 5 scatters = Eternal Destruction. Scatters can land anywhere on the 5×4 grid.
Session Variance
The gap between actual results and theoretical RTP. Eternal Duel has 96.30% RTP, but a 200-spin session can return 20% to 350% of your wager. Without a feature trigger, sessions tend to run 40-75% of theoretical RTP. With Zeus Fury or Eternal Destruction + DuelReel compounding, single sessions can finish at 250%+ of wagered amount.
Sticky Wild
A Wild symbol that stays in place across multiple spins. Eternal Duel's base-game DuelReels are NOT sticky — they expand on the spin where they land and disappear. During Free Spins (especially Eternal Destruction), DuelReels can carry sticky behavior with their multiplier values locked across the round.
Three Bonus Modes
Eternal Duel's tier system. Hades Havoc (3 scatters, 6+ spins, growing multiplier). Zeus Fury (4 scatters, 8+ spins, lightning wilds with multipliers). Eternal Destruction (5 scatters, 10+ spins, guaranteed special symbols). The structural progression rewards higher trigger tiers with elevated mechanics rather than just more spins.
Volatility (Variance)
How a slot's payouts are distributed. Eternal Duel is rated High (5/5) (5/5) — top-tier variance. The 24% hit frequency produces longer dry spells than mainstream Hacksaw titles. Bonus rounds trigger rarely but produce outsized wins. The 76% dead-spin rate at base game is the cost of the 10,000x cap potential.
VS Symbol
Eternal Duel's DuelReel trigger. When a VS symbol lands and participates in a winning combination, it expands into a full DuelReel showing Hades vs Zeus duelling for multiplier values. The "VS" notation is signature Hacksaw across the DuelReels series. Each VS symbol can only trigger one DuelReel per spin.
Ways to Win
An alternative to fixed paylines. Eternal Duel uses 20 Lines fixed paylines, not ways-to-win. Hacksaw Gaming has ways-format slots elsewhere; the DuelReels series commits to lines. The 20-line density combined with DuelReel multiplier compounding produces predictable hit frequencies suited to high-vol math.
Wild
A symbol that substitutes for any regular symbol to complete winning combinations. Eternal Duel's VS symbols function as Wilds when they expand into DuelReels — the entire reel becomes wild for that spin, substituting for everything except scatters. During Zeus Fury, lightning wilds carry their own multiplier values. Multiple wilds on the same payline stack multiplicatively.
Win Distribution
How total payouts are spread across different win sizes. High (5/5)-volatility slots like Eternal Duel are top-heavy — Eternal Destruction contributes ~30% of total RTP despite triggering rarely. Zeus Fury ~25%. Hades Havoc ~20%. Base-game DuelReel alignments ~22%. Standard payline wins ~3%. The distribution skews dramatically toward bonus rounds.
Zeus Fury
Eternal Duel's mid-tier bonus mode. Triggered by 4 scatters during base play OR Bonus Buy at 150x bet. 8+ free spins with lightning wilds carrying their own multiplier values. Two wilds on the same payline stack multiplicatively (5x wild + 7x wild = 35x line, not 12x). RTP 96.30%. Average return ~110x.
Bonus Buy Restrictions
Some countries ban purchasing bonus rounds. UK prohibits since October 2021. Sweden caps bet sizes during buys. Ontario caps max bet at $5 CAD during buys. Eternal Duel's three Bonus Buy tiers (80x, 150x, 250x) follow these restrictions. The Eternal Destruction Buy at 96.32% RTP is the highest-RTP buy variant in the catalog.
Hacksaw Gaming Mythology Series
Hacksaw's mythology-themed catalog includes Eternal Duel alongside other Greek mythology and ancient-world releases. Common thread: VS symbol DuelReel mechanic, multiple bonus tiers, multiplicative wild stacking. Eternal Duel (March 2026) sits in Hacksaw's modern mythology expansion of the DuelReels series.
Hades vs Zeus DuelReel Math
Eternal Duel's critical math distinction. Each DuelReel has TWO independent multiplier values — Hades (2x-15x) and Zeus (2x-15x). Base game uses one side per payline. Free Spins ADDS both sides together (10x Hades + 8x Zeus = 18x combined). Multiple DuelReels on same payline MULTIPLY their combined values. The two-step math (add within reel, multiply across reels) produces the slot's biggest single-spin wins.
Greek Mythology Symbol Hierarchy
Eternal Duel's premium symbol order. Trident (top tier) pays the highest line values. Lightning Bolt second. Themed mythology icons (helmet, owl, eagle) fill the mid tier. Card royals (A/K/Q/J/10) form the bottom across the 20-line layout. The premium-tier symbols pay roughly 5-10x more per line than mid-tier symbols.
5×4 Grid with 20 Paylines
Eternal Duel's grid format. 5 reels × 4 rows = 20 cells. Pays through 20 fixed paylines — moderate density. The 5×4 layout (taller than typical 5×3) provides more vertical space for DuelReel expansions and Eternal Destruction's guaranteed special symbols. Sister DuelReels titles use varying grids; Eternal Duel's 5×4 fits the mythology theme.
